In pastel painting, the way you lay your marks down, the touch that you use to do it, and the energy or subtlety of your strokes, can absolutely change the feeling of a painting. Shelly will teach you many different techniques for how to make your marks, how and when to use those marks throughout your process, and what to expect from those marks in the final product. There will be exercises utilizing the techniques and plenty of time for self expression in painting to practice these techniques.
