I first fell in love with Cape Ann almost ten years ago when we first visited by boat. The landscape there is a source of limitless inspiration to me with its working waterfront, boats of all kinds, and older buildings on crowded streets. I seek the “golden hour” of extreme light at early morning and just before sunset with my camera, riding my bike or taking the dinghy around the harbor looking for just the right composition. I am fascinated by reflections in water; the way light bounces up on the hull of a boat; and by the light-and-dark contrast of wood pilings under a dock. A lifelong naturally talented artist, I took up watercolor in earnest in 2009. Working from my own photographs, I enjoy using a precise and realistic style that enhances the color and light of the original subject matter. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and have taken classes at the Worcester Art Museum in Worcester, Mass. I am a juried Artist Member of The North Shore Art Association and the Rocky Neck Art Colony in Gloucester. As of May 2018 we own a home in the South End of Rockport, fulfilling a longtime dream to live and work on Cape Ann. We keep a boat at a nearby marina and that gets me out on the water to some of my favorite subject matter. In addtion to being an artist I am also a top-producing real estate agent, now working in the Cape Ann area.
