Dianne Allen
Diane J. Allen, a BFA graduate, is a lifetime resident of Massachusetts. Watercolors are created daily in her South Hadley studio. Two loves have influenced her life, art and gardening, loves that Diane has pursued throughout her life, one influencing the other. Outside of her studio, is a unique and colorful garden, complete with “rooms” and ponds and a small waterfall. This garden is the inspiration of a great many of her florals.
Diane’s paintings have been shown in numerous juried shows and exhibits in the Northeast. Many of her works are included in private and commercial collections. She has had paintings published in North Light Books, “Splash 6” and “Splash 7”, collections of the best of watercolor. Diane was the official artist for the “US Women’s Open, 2004”, South Hadley, MA. Prints of her painting “Hole #4, Orchards Country Club”, carry the official seal of the 2004 US Women’s Open.
“One of the biggest honors of my painting career was the acceptance of a painting into a show of the American Watercolor Society and having that painting included in their national touring exhibition.”
Diane, a traditionalist, firmly believes that a strong artistic foundation, dedication and motivation, daily practice and observation, are essential to creating fine art. However, Diane’s surprising use of color, and creative lighting techniques, add romance and excitement to her traditional but unique creations.
