Janice Carragher Charles

Janice Carragher Charles is a painter and printmaker living and working in both Gloucester, Massachusetts and Coconut Grove, Florida. She has BA, Art Major, from Regis College and a Masters degree with a specialty in Art Education from the University of Massachusetts. Janice is a recent member of the Board of Directors at the Rockport Art Association and Museum. The Charles family have owned and operated the Charles Fine Arts: a 2,000 square foot gallery in Gloucester Massachusetts since 2016. During the 8 years of operation, over 40 different exhibits have been accomplished. The primary curator and juror of these exhibits has been the duty of Janice Charles. The gallery represents a wide variety of nationally and regionally known living artists.

Janice is regularly called upon to jury exhibits for associations and clubs.

Aside from her duties at the gallery, Janice is a dedicated member of a figure study drawing and painting group and a devoted plein air landscape painter. Her wood block and silk screen prints have been exhibited nationally and regionally and are in many private collections.

Janice is an active member of the following art associations, including but not limited to: National Association of Women Artists, Florida Chapter and Massachusetts Chapter, Newburyport Art Association, North Shore Art Association, Rockport Art Association, Rocky Neck Art Colony, and the Society for Contemporary Printmaking.
