Jed Sutter
I try to recreate an image that was compelling to me in the hopes that it will do the same for you. I work mostly in the studio but occasionally work outside, “en plein air”. My subjects are urban architecture, the aging trolley that rumbles behind my home, the shores and harbors of my youth, and occasionally something completely outside of my usual subjects, just because it caught my eye.
My works are in oil, acrylic, watercolor or gouache. Preparing to start painting a subject, I’ll just get a feeling about which medium suits it best.
I was granted full artist membership in both the Copley Society of Art and the North Shore Arts Association. I’m also a member of both the Newton Watercolor Society and the Plymouth Art Guild.
I have won a Blue Ribbon in the Third Annual Gallery 334 Art Exhibition and an Award of Merit at the Copley Society of Art.
My work, American Harvester was accepted into the 2020 New England Watercolor Society North American Open Juried Exhibition.
