Joyce Wood
Joyce Wood has painted watercolors since 1983, focusing on New England landscapes. Growing up on the north shore area, her family often took trips to Cape Ann and the Maine coast. Her father and grandmother taught her oil painting at a young age, always encouraged to draw from nature.
Eventually, she wanted to learn the art of watercolor and began studying with Roberta Thresher and George Shedd. Receiving numerous awards early on, she acquired artist membership into New England Watercolor Society, Rockport Art Association, and the Northshore Art Association.
Her work now hangs in many public and private collections throughout the United States. She maintains a studio in her Wakefield home.
