Luis Ruvalcaba
Luis G. Ruvalcaba is a bi-coastal creative whose career began in the fast-paced ad world of San Francisco and evolved through the rise of digital into creative leadership roles at top tech companies across Silicon Valley, Boston, and beyond.
“My work focuses on capturing the human figure as an expression in a moment in time. All digital prints are a series from an original and are meticulously rendered and printed on canvas.
I’m always experimenting with new techniques and comfortable with analog and digital technologies. I use both according to the needs of the project but always start with a traditional charcoal, conte´, pastel and end up on canvas with oils or digital.”
Raised in Tucson, trained at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, Luis has always followed the thread of visual storytelling—from advertising design to figurative art, from branding systems to personal works on paper. His creative practice spans mediums and disciplines, but the core remains the same: a belief in the power of image, emotion, and message to move people.
When he’s not leading global design teams or developing new ventures under the LuRu brand, he’s usually sketching, painting, or finding fresh inspiration through travel.
