Patricia McCarthy
Pat was born in New Jersey and was introduced to painting at an early age by her grandmother. She has spent most of her adult life in Massachusetts and Vermont.
Pat holds undergraduate degrees from Duke University in North Carolina and Emmanuel College in Boston, and a masters degree from Clark University, Worcester, MA. During a career in healthcare she continued to paint and expand her art education. Over the past few years she had been fortunate to study with renowned Gloucester plein air painter David P. Curtis and Rockport artist, Caleb Stone. Pat lives in Gloucester where she paints in the studio and “en plein air” primarily in oil. She frequently travels to Ireland and Italy to paint with family and friends.
Pat is an artist member of the Rockport Art Association (Rockport, MA), Bryan Gallery (Jeffersonville, VT), Marblehead Art Association, Newburyport Art Association, National Association or Women in Art (NY and MA Chapters), North Shore Art Association (Gloucester, MA), and the Artists’ Group of Charlestown (Boston, MA)
