Phil Kennedy
Phil Kennedy is a long-time Massachusetts resident who started painting after retiring from his 37-year career as an environmental planner with a Boston-based engineering firm. He has always had an interest in the arts, fueled by his love of nature and the diverse beauty of New England landscapes and seascapes. Phil has been an amateur photographer throughout his life and seeks to apply the same principles of composition and lighting to his paintings. He works almost exclusively with oil on canvas and is mentored by KT Morse of Ipswich, MA. Most of his paintings are of Massachusetts, North Shore, or Maine landscapes – generally unique scenes with dramatic cloud formations or coastal tranquility. However, Phil also likes painting favorite scenes from his trips to Europe. Phil lives in Topsfield with his wife, Phyllis. He enjoys her support as well as that of his two daughters and son-in-law.
