Tom Bailey describes his style of painting as ‘Inadvertently Impressionist.” He paints primarily in pastels and oils and is known for his vibrant textures and bold mark-making. “All my paintings start at places I’ve actually been,” explains Bailey. “Where they take me from there, however — or where I take them — is always an unplanned adventure.” Tom is a full-time artist with studios in Amesbury, Massachusetts. He regularly exhibits with a wide range of regional and national arts organizations and major galleries. Signature Memberships include: Pastel Society of America, Connecticut Pastel Society, Pastel Society of Maine, Central Mass. Pastel Society, and the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod. Juried Artist memberships include The Salmagundi Club (NYC), North Shore Art Assoc., Rockport Art Assoc. & Museum, Newburyport Art and Marblehead Art. He and his family divide their time between a small town north of Boston, Massachusetts and an even smaller town south of Keene, New Hampshire.
